It's hard to believe it's been a decade since Laura Gibson gave us Empire Builder — a beautiful, deeply personal record that still feels as moving as ever. We're incredibly proud to have been a part of this album, and we're happy to celebrate its 10th anniversary with a special new edition. Empire Builder is now available to pre-order on fruit punch-colored vinyl, with newly expanded liner notes featuring an essay from Laura about the making of the record and what it means to her a decade later.

Chris Staples Golden Age Snowy Night Sky Vinyl

Chris Staples' slyly brilliant songwriting and elegant indie-folk-inflected recordings have made him one of the most popular and beloved artists in the Barsuk family, and we're excited to mark the 10th anniversary of the second of his tremendous Barsuk LPs, Golden Age, with a beautiful vinyl pressing on limited-edition ‘Snowy Night Sky’ vinyl, inspired by the album's iconic wintery artwork.

Rocky Votolato Makers (Expanded Edition) + limited color vinyl out January 23

Barsuk is beyond excited to announce the January 23 digital release of Makers (Expanded Edition), assembling the original indie-folk/alt-country masterpiece with the follow-up 2007 End Like This EP plus eight previously-unreleased tracks — four never-before-heard outttakes and four demos — including a heartbreaking cover of Jeff Buckley's "Lover, You Should've Come Over."

Along with "White Daisy Passing," "Portland Is Leaving," "Tinfoil Hats," "She Was Only In It For The Rain" and 8 more indie classics from the original release, the expanded digital album will be available as a download included with a new Makers LP reissue — also in stores (and via the Barsuk shop) on January 23 — packaged in a gatefold jacket with updated artwork, a lyrics insert and a multicolored (black & blue with white splatter) vinyl pressing. 08 Jan 2026

Mathieu Santos announces new deluxe reissue of Massachusetts 2010

Barsuk is pleased to announce that a new, deluxe reissue of Mathieu Santos' (Ra Ra Riot) cult-classic 2011 solo record Massachusetts 2010 will be released on October 22. (Pre-save the deluxe edition here)

In addition to the original album, the fifteenth anniversary "2025 Edition" will include both bedroom demo and MIDI instrumental demo versions of all ten songs, along with a selection of previously-unreleased remixes – including a brand-new rework of fan-favorite track "I Can Hear the Trains Coming" by Santos' friend (and frequent collaborator) Nick Van Hofwegen of Young & Sick. 09 Oct 2025
